Ukrainian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists, Cosmetologists (UADVC)
was founded after decision of 7th Ukrainian Congress of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Cosmetologists in September 1999. Association was registered as a Ukrainian NGO by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine in October 18, 2000 and acting under the Constitution of Ukraine, the laws and its own Charter, which was approved by the UADVC conference in April 20, 2000.
Dermatology, venereology and cosmetology in Ukraine originates from antiquity, but the most significant achievement of this branch of medicine gained in the second half of the 20th century, due to the overall progress of culture and science.
The first society of dermatologists and venereologists in Ukraine was founded in 1900 by Professor Sergiy Tomashevsky. Its work was interrupted by Civil War in 1917 and been restored in 1938 by Professor Andriy Tyzhnenko.

The goals of the Association
The main goals of the Association are promoting the careers of doctors of basic and clinical dermatology, venereology and cosmetology, protecting the legitimate interests of its members that will contribute to the continuous improvement of appropriate medical care to the population of Ukraine.
For implementation of these goals, the Association will provide certification through co-operation with specialized institutions and physicians, participate in medical self-government, reviewing research projects submitted to the contests of the problems of dermatology and venereology and the establishment of training programs for specialists in various aspects of dermatology, venereology and cosmetology, design guidelines of the physicians’ training, funding on a competitive basis promising areas scientific and research work in dermatology, venereology and cosmetology. The Association will also promote its members in the development of international relations in the field of dermatology, venereology and cosmetology, including co-operation with the International Society of Dermatology, International Union against Sexually Transmitted Infeсtions, European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, national dermatological societies around the world, financing education and training abroad of Association members, students and researchers to leading areas of medicine, management, law, ecology and modern technology.
Among the important activities of the Association is to organize researches, teaching workshops, conferences etc.
The Association joines about 3,000 members. UADVC membership may be individual or collective. Admission to membership is performed by decision of the Presidium. Financing of Association occurs through membership fees and donations.
The first president of the Association was Corresponding Member of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Higher School, EADV member, Professor Volodymyr Kolyadenko.
